Why I'm Building Hypnothera

I'm scratching my own itch with this one.
Did you know the standard hypnotherapy session is $100-$300 for an hour?!
Prerecorded sessions are about $15 on average per recording. And you don't even get to see the transcript ahead of time.
It is absolutely unbelievable how much gate keeping there is around this practice. Especially when it's nothing more than just that - a practice.
Hypnotherapists will have you believe that the multiple abbreviations after their name give them some sort of certified wizard status. The reality is that ALL hypnosis is Self-Hypnosis. Whether it's a recording or a live session, the voice you're listening to is nothing more than a guide. You can technically hypnotize yourself by just thinking to yourself if you have the mental fortitude for it.
Filling a Gap
Let's not take anything away from hypnotherapists. There are many very well qualified practitioners out there who have changed lives over the years. But let's face it, the majority of use don't have access to those practitioners. We don't live near them, nor could we afford their hourly rate anyway.
This is where many of us turn to online solutions. We go on Youtube to find generic prerecordings, and search for things like "hypnosis for sleep meditation", "hypnosis for anxiety", or "hypnosis for fear of flying"....
I've found Michael Sealy's free recordings immensely powerful, and appreciate him so much for putting his stuff out there for free. And seeing from his subscriber count on Youtube, hundreds of thousands of others have also been visiting and revisiting his work.
But after a few months of using the same recording, we all face the same question - "What if I want more personalized hypnotherapy?"
I wanted to go deeper into my anxiety. I have a fear of flying that has only recently developed. Personally I'm a frequent flyer and turbulence never bothered me until around 2020. I wanted to go deeper into the few bad experiences I had had and rewrite the story within my head so that I could fix those visceral physical sensations of anxiety around turbulence, rather than having to try to cover all the bases with another generic "Hypnosis for Anxiety" track on Youtube.
