Free Hypnosis Apps (2026)

Written by YJ Kim, Founder of Hypnothera · B.S. Cognitive Science, UC Berkeley

"Free" means different things: an ongoing free plan, a first session on the house, or a trial that turns into a subscription. Here's what each app actually gives you for free, grouped by type.

Bias disclosure: we make Hypnothera, which is included below. Hypnothera is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the people or organizations discussed on this page.

FAQ

Is there a completely free hypnosis app?

A few apps have an ongoing free plan rather than a short trial. When we checked on October 3, 2026, Hypnothera's free plan gave 25 starter credits plus 15 every week and unlimited Quick sessions, and InTheMoment's free tier allowed 2 new sessions a day up to 20 minutes. Mochi Zen also lists a free tier alongside a 7-day trial.

What's the difference between a free plan and a free trial?

A free plan keeps working with limits (credits, daily caps, or shorter sessions). A free trial unlocks the paid plan for a set time, often 7 days, and usually renews into a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.

Are free hypnosis recordings on YouTube a good alternative?

They can be a good way to try hypnosis at no cost. They're pre-recorded for a broad audience and may include ads. See our guide to free YouTube hypnosis alternatives for the trade-offs.

Do I need a credit card to try a hypnosis app?

It depends on the app and store. Hypnothera's free plan doesn't need a card. Trials offered through the App Store or Google Play are tied to your store account and renew unless cancelled.
