Begin by taking a slow, deep breath in through your nose. [4 second pause] And as you exhale through your mouth, feel the tension starting to leave your body. [5 second pause] With each breath, allow yourself to settle more comfortably into your position. [4 second pause] Notice the gentle rise and fall of your abdomen as you breathe naturally and easily. [5 second pause] Focus now on your feet and toes, letting them become heavy and relaxed. [6 second pause] This relaxation flows upward, through your ankles and calves. [5 second pause] Moving into your knees and thighs. [5 second pause] Feel a wave of comfort and relaxation flowing into your hips and lower back. [6 second pause] Your entire lower body becoming deeply relaxed now. [5 second pause] This soothing sensation continues upward, into your abdomen and stomach area. [6 second pause] Feel any tension in this area gently melting away. [5 second pause] Your breathing becomes even more calm and regular. [6 second pause] The relaxation spreads through your chest and upper back. [5 second pause] Down your arms, through your elbows, into your hands and fingers.
