Dating Confidence Hypnosis | Future-Self Dialogue

Hey there, I'm glad we have this time together today. [3 second pause] Before we begin, let's just get you set up properly so you can get the most out of this session. [3 second pause] Find a comfortable position — lying down works beautifully, or sitting back in a chair with your head supported. [3 second pause] Let your hands rest naturally, either at your sides or softly on your lap, whichever feels more like you. [3 second pause] You don't need to do anything with them right now. [3 second pause] Just let them settle. [2 second pause] If you're somewhere you can close your eyes safely, go ahead and do that now, or let your gaze soften toward the floor. [3 second pause] Either way is completely fine. [3 second pause] This session is part of your IBS Relief journey, and today we're doing something a little special. [3 second pause] We're going to work with the part of you that wants a real night out — dinner, candlelight, maybe someone you actually like sitting across from you — without the background noise of bathroom anxiety running the whole show. [3 second pause] You've already done some really good work in this series. [3 second pause] You've built a calming anchor for gut-related worry, you've started to separate bloating from your worth as a person, you've practiced leaving the house with a plan that doesn't run your life, and yesterday you started to untangle that restaurant menu spiral. [3 second pause] Today we build on all of that. [3 second pause] We're adding something new: the quiet confidence of someone who is prepared, not panicked. [3 second pause] Someone who has an exit strategy not because they expect disaster, but because having a plan is what lets them actually relax and enjoy the evening. [3 second pause] There's nothing to force here. [3 second pause] Your only job is to listen, breathe, and let your nervous system do what it already knows how to do. [3 second pause] Okay. [2 second pause] Let's begin.

You know you're ready for this, don't you? [3 second pause] Some part of you has been waiting all day to just... let go for a little while. [4 second pause] So let's not waste any time. [3 second pause] Right now, wherever you are, feel the surface beneath you. [4 second pause] Feel the actual weight of your body pressing down into it. [5 second pause] Not floating. Not trying. Just... the real, physical fact of you, resting. [5 second pause] And as you feel that, notice that your shoulders are probably a little higher than they need to be. [4 second pause] Let them drop now. [5 second pause] Just a little. [4 second pause] Good. [5 second pause] Now your jaw. [3 second pause] Is it clenched? [3 second pause] Most of the time it is, and we don't even notice. [4 second pause] Let it soften. [5 second pause] Let there be just a tiny bit of space between your back teeth. [6 second pause] That's it. [5 second pause] And now, one slow breath in through the nose. [4 second pause] And a long, easy breath out. [6 second pause] You don't have to breathe in any special way after that. Just let your body breathe. [5 second pause] It knows how. [6 second pause] Now feel the weight of your hands. [4 second pause] Heavy. [4 second pause] Warm. [5 second pause] And as that heaviness spreads from your hands up through your wrists and forearms, you might notice your eyelids getting a little heavier too. [5 second pause] That's not you trying. That's just your nervous system recognizing that it's safe to slow down. [6 second pause] And with each breath out, you go a little further into that soft, easy quiet. [7 second pause] Further still. [8 second pause] That's right.

Let's bring you somewhere that feels very real. [4 second pause] Feel yourself standing in front of a mirror. [4 second pause] Not a harsh, overhead-lit dressing room mirror. [4 second pause] A good mirror. [4 second pause] The kind with a warm glow that catches the good stuff. [5 second pause] You're getting ready for tonight. [4 second pause] Feel the cool smoothness of the bathroom counter under your fingertips. [5 second pause] Feel the slight give of the floor under your feet as you shift your weight. [5 second pause] Your outfit is already on. [4 second pause] Feel the fabric — the way it sits against your skin, the way the waistband settles without demanding your attention. [5 second pause] Not too tight. Not performing. Just... yours. [6 second pause] On the counter in front of you, your purse is open. [4 second pause] Feel the texture of it — the zipper pull between your fingers if you reach for it. [5 second pause] Inside, a few things that matter to you. [4 second pause] Your phone, already charged. [4 second pause] Maybe a small tin of mints. [4 second pause] Perhaps a little packet of herbal tea tucked into the inside pocket, the kind that makes you feel like you've thought of everything. [5 second pause] Lipstick. [4 second pause] The good one. [5 second pause] Feel yourself dropping it in. [4 second pause] Hear the soft thud as it lands. [5 second pause] And somewhere in that purse is the quiet knowledge that you've already checked the restaurant. [4 second pause] You know where the bathroom is. [4 second pause] You know what's on the menu. [4 second pause] You have a rough sense of the neighborhood. [5 second pause] Not because you're bracing for the worst. [5 second pause] But because that's just what a prepared person does. [6 second pause] And being prepared means you can actually be present tonight. [7 second pause] You can laugh at the thing they say. [4 second pause] You can taste the food. [4 second pause] You can feel the warmth of the room and the low murmur of other people having their own evenings. [6 second pause] This is what it feels like to go out as yourself. [7 second pause] Fully yourself. [8 second pause]

And now, let's go a little deeper into that calm. [5 second pause] I'm going to count down from five to one, and with each number, feel yourself settling more fully into this quiet, easy state. [4 second pause] Five. [6 second pause] Feel the weight of your body becoming heavier, softer, more at ease. [6 second pause] Four. [7 second pause] Any tension left in your face or your neck just... releases. [6 second pause] Three. [7 second pause] Your belly soft. [5 second pause] Your breath slow. [5 second pause] Your whole body remembering what it feels like to not be on alert. [7 second pause] Two. [8 second pause] Deeper now. [6 second pause] Quiet and steady. [7 second pause] One. [10 second pause] That's right. [8 second pause] Beautifully deep. [10 second pause] And from this place of deep, easy calm, your mind is open and receptive. [6 second pause] Every word lands gently and settles in, like something you already knew. [8 second pause]

And here's what's true about you tonight. [5 second pause] You are someone who has done the work. [4 second pause] Not the anxious, over-preparing, spiral-into-every-possible-scenario kind of work. [5 second pause] The real kind. [4 second pause] The kind where you check the map once, you know the layout, you tuck a little comfort into your purse, and then you zip it closed and go be a person. [6 second pause] Yesterday you practiced untangling the menu spiral — that familiar loop of what can I eat, what if I pick wrong, what if everyone notices. [5 second pause] And today that skill comes with you. [5 second pause] It sits in the background, quiet, like a good friend who doesn't need to talk the whole time. [7 second pause] Feel this now: being prepared is not the same as being scared. [6 second pause] You can have an exit strategy and still be the most present person in the room. [6 second pause] In fact, the plan is exactly what lets you stop planning and just... be there. [7 second pause] Feel your hand — soft on your belly for a moment. [5 second pause] One slow breath. [5 second pause] Shoulders down. [5 second pause] Jaw unclenched. [5 second pause] And the quiet reminder: I can be prepared without being ruled by the plan. [8 second pause] That's your anchor. [5 second pause] It's yours. [6 second pause] And it works. [8 second pause] Now feel yourself at the table. [5 second pause] The restaurant hum around you — low voices, the clink of a glass somewhere nearby, the warmth of candlelight on your skin. [6 second pause] You're seated. [4 second pause] You've already clocked the bathroom — not obsessively, just the way a confident person notices their surroundings. [6 second pause] And now you're actually here. [5 second pause] Not managing the evening. [5 second pause] Living it. [7 second pause] Feel what it's like to order something you genuinely want. [5 second pause] Not the safest thing on the menu. [5 second pause] Not the thing that requires the least explanation. [5 second pause] Something that sounds good to you. [6 second pause] And if you need to make a small swap or a quiet request, you do it easily, without apology, without a whole production. [6 second pause] Because you are someone who knows what works for her body, and that is not embarrassing. [6 second pause] That is just information. [8 second pause] Feel the ease of conversation. [5 second pause] The way your attention can actually land on the other person when your nervous system isn't running threat assessments every thirty seconds. [6 second pause] You can be funny. [4 second pause] You can be curious. [4 second pause] You can be a little bit magnetic, because you're not half-somewhere-else. [7 second pause] And if at any point during the evening your body sends a signal — a little pressure, a little urgency — you don't catastrophize. [6 second pause] You simply excuse yourself with the casual grace of someone who has absolutely nothing to prove. [6 second pause] "Back in a sec." [5 second pause] And you go. [5 second pause] And you come back. [5 second pause] And the evening continues. [7 second pause] Because that's what it is. [5 second pause] An evening. [5 second pause] Not a performance. [5 second pause] Not a test. [5 second pause] Just a night out with someone interesting, in a restaurant with decent lighting and a bathroom you already know the location of. [8 second pause] Feel the deep truth of this settling into your body now. [6 second pause] You are not your gut's unpredictability. [6 second pause] You are the person who showed up anyway. [6 second pause] Who got dressed, zipped the purse, and walked out the door. [7 second pause] That is the whole thing. [5 second pause] That is everything. [10 second pause]

And now, from this calm and open place, let your awareness drift forward in time. [5 second pause] Feel yourself in the days and weeks ahead. [5 second pause] Feel what it's like to get a message — a date request, a dinner invitation, a "want to grab food this week?" — and feel your response in your body. [6 second pause] Not the old spiral. [5 second pause] Not the immediate scan of risk and logistics and worst-case outcomes. [6 second pause] Just a quiet, easy yes. [5 second pause] Or a considered, easy maybe. [5 second pause] Either way, coming from choice. [7 second pause] Feel yourself getting ready again — that mirror, that reflection, that purse being packed with the things that matter. [6 second pause] And feel how ordinary it becomes. [5 second pause] Not because the anxiety never shows up. [5 second pause] But because you know what to do with it when it does. [6 second pause] One hand soft on the belly. [4 second pause] One slow breath. [5 second pause] Shoulders down. [4 second pause] Jaw unclenched. [5 second pause] I can be prepared without being ruled by the plan. [8 second pause] Feel yourself mid-date, laughing at something. [5 second pause] Really laughing. [5 second pause] The kind that comes from your whole chest. [6 second pause] Feel what it's like to be someone who goes on dates. [5 second pause] Who has stories. [5 second pause] Who is building a life that is bigger than the bathroom map. [7 second pause] And feel this: the exit strategy is not the story. [6 second pause] The exit strategy is just the foundation that lets the real story happen. [8 second pause] Tomorrow, that same prepared confidence travels with you. [5 second pause] Through airports and road trips and hotel lobbies and all the unfamiliar terrain that used to feel so daunting. [6 second pause] The same you. [5 second pause] The same anchor. [5 second pause] A slightly bigger world. [10 second pause]

And now, gently, beautifully, we begin to come back. [5 second pause] I'm going to count from one to five, and with each number you'll feel yourself becoming more awake, more present, more refreshed — like you've just had the best kind of rest. [5 second pause] One. [5 second pause] Awareness beginning to return to your fingers and toes. [5 second pause] Wiggle them gently if you'd like. [5 second pause] Two. [5 second pause] A little more alert now. [5 second pause] Your breath deepening naturally. [5 second pause] Three. [5 second pause] Feeling the surface beneath you again, the room around you, the sounds of wherever you are. [5 second pause] Four. [5 second pause] Nearly all the way back, feeling clear and calm and genuinely good. [5 second pause] And five. [5 second pause] Eyes open, fully here, fully you. [5 second pause] Take a moment before you move. [4 second pause] Just let that settle.

You just did something really good for yourself. [4 second pause] Not just today — over the last five days, you've been quietly, consistently showing up for the version of you who wants more. [5 second pause] More evenings out. [4 second pause] More yes. [4 second pause] More presence. [5 second pause] And you're getting there. [5 second pause] Take your anchor with you today — that one hand soft on the belly, one slow breath, shoulders down, jaw unclenched, and the reminder that you can be prepared without being ruled by the plan. [6 second pause] Use it whenever you need it. [4 second pause] In the mirror before you leave. [4 second pause] In the car on the way there. [4 second pause] In the restaurant bathroom if you need a thirty-second reset. [5 second pause] It's yours now. [5 second pause] Tomorrow, the same prepared confidence travels through airports, road trips, and hotels. [5 second pause] We'll meet you there. [4 second pause] Until then — go have a good evening. [4 second pause] You've earned it.
