Before we begin, please find a comfortable position where you won't be disturbed for the next 30 minutes. [3 second pause] You may sit comfortably in a chair or lie down, whichever feels most natural for you. [4 second pause] Allow your hands to rest naturally at your sides or on your lap, whatever feels most comfortable. [3 second pause] You can keep your eyes open for now, as I'll guide you when it's time to close them. [4 second pause] You are always in complete control throughout this experience, and you can emerge from this state at any time simply by opening your eyes and taking a deep breath. [3 second pause] Remember that hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention that you experience many times throughout the day. [4 second pause] You are safe, you are in control, and you will only accept suggestions that are beneficial and appropriate for you.

Feel the weight of your body against the surface supporting you. [4 second pause] Notice the temperature of the air on your skin. [5 second pause] Become aware of the fabric of your clothing touching your body. [4 second pause] Feel how your chest rises and falls with each breath. [6 second pause] Now, I want you to place your hand against your forehead. [3 second pause] Feel the warmth of your palm against your skin. [4 second pause] You can feel it sticking there, as if held by an invisible force. [6 second pause] Try to move it, but notice how it stays exactly where it is. [5 second pause] The harder you try, the more firmly it stays in place. [4 second pause] That's right, it's completely stuck there until I tell it to move. [6 second pause] This shows you how easily your body responds to focused attention. [4 second pause] When I count to three, your hand will drop down and your eyes will close, taking you much deeper. [5 second pause] Feel your hand drop down as your eyes close and you sink into a wonderful state of focused awareness.
