Why We Left Vercel

We want to be transparent with our community about a significant infrastructure change we recently made, and more importantly, why we made it.
The Decision to Leave Vercel
On October 1st, 2024, Guillermo Rauch, the CEO and founder of Vercel, posted a photo of himself alongside Benjamin Netanyahu. This occurred during a period when Netanyahu has been widely condemned by international human rights organizations and the International Court of Justice for actions in Gaza that many consider to constitute genocide.
Following this, hundreds of projects and developers announced their decision to migrate away from Vercel. We joined them. This wasn't a decision we took lightly—we've been using Vercel for years and it has been an excellent platform. However, our values as a company are non-negotiable.
Our Ethical Stance
At Hypnothera, we believe that businesses have a responsibility to take ethical stances on matters of human rights. The ongoing situation in Gaza, where tens of thousands of civilians have been killed and millions displaced, represents one of the great humanitarian crises of our time.
We cannot in good conscience continue to financially support a company whose leadership publicly aligns with those responsible for such suffering. This decision aligns with the growing global movement of boycotts, divestments, and sanctions (BDS) in support of Palestinian human rights.
The Technical Migration
We've migrated our entire infrastructure from Vercel to Render. This was a complex undertaking that required reconfiguring our deployment pipeline, environment variables, edge functions, and various other infrastructure components.
Due to the urgency of this decision and the differences between the two platforms, we had to move quickly. As a result, some bugs and issues have emerged that we're actively working to resolve.

We understand that platform instability can be frustrating, especially when you're relying on our service for your wellbeing. Here's what you can expect:

2.**Credit Refunds**: If you experience any issues that result in wasted credits, please contact us at hello@hypnothera.ai and we'll refund them immediately.
