"Hello, and welcome. I’m so glad you're here today. What we're about to do is a natural and very safe process. You might have seen hypnosis in movies or on stage, but that's really just for entertainment. Hypnosis is a state of focused attention and deep relaxation—it's very much like daydreaming or getting lost in a good book. You'll be aware of everything happening around you, and you'll always be in complete control. Think of me not as someone who's going to make you do something, but as your guide, helping you access the deeper, more creative parts of your own mind."
"Your mind has two main parts. The conscious mind is the logical, analytical part. It's the part of you that’s listening to my words right now and thinking about them. The subconscious mind is the more powerful, creative part. It's where your habits, memories, and deeply held beliefs reside. During our session, we're going to gently quiet that conscious, critical mind and speak directly to the part of you that can create profound, lasting change. This isn't about changing who you are; it's about helping you remember and reinforce the positive qualities you already possess."
"Today, we're going to create something called a trance trigger. A trigger is simply a mental shortcut—a specific word, phrase, or action—that you can use in the future to quickly and easily re-access this feeling of deep calm and focus. It’s like a special key that only you have, to unlock this state of peace and clarity whenever you need it. We will install this trigger during the session, and the more you use it in the future, the more powerful it will become. It's a tool for you, to give you more control over your own state of mind. It’s completely safe, and it's always under your command."
1.4. Setting Expectations & Final Instructions
"Remember, your experience is entirely your own. Some people feel a sense of heaviness, others a feeling of lightness. You might notice a tingling or just a sense of profound calm. There's no right or wrong way to feel. Just relax and allow your mind to follow the instructions. If your mind wanders, that's perfectly normal. Just gently bring your focus back to the sound of my voice. As we begin, find a comfortable position, and when you're ready, simply close your eyes and begin to focus on your breath. We’ll start there."
