Notice how your body naturally knows this rhythm, just as it knows how to relax completely and safely. Feel that relaxation beginning in your toes, spreading like warm honey through your feet. Moving up through your ankles, calves, and knees, each muscle releasing any remaining tension.
As you continue breathing at your own peaceful pace, bring your attention to any sounds in your environment. Like distant waves on a shore, these sounds simply wash over you, each one carrying you deeper into tranquility. Let every sound remind you of how safe and peaceful you feel right now.
Feel that wonderful relaxation flowing up through your thighs now, into your hips and lower back. Each breath melts away any tension, like snow dissolving in warm sunlight. That peaceful feeling spreads through your stomach and chest, surrounding your heart with gentle comfort.
Now, gently close your eyes if you haven't already, allowing your eyelids to feel heavy and comfortable, as though they're covered in warm, soothing silk. Feel that relaxation moving through your shoulders and down your arms, all the way to your fingertips. Up through your neck and across your scalp, like a warm shower of pure relaxation.
With each breath, you're becoming more and more relaxed, sinking deeper and deeper, like a feather floating down through still air.
