Settling In
Welcome to your weekly relaxation session. Find a quiet, comfortable space where you won't be disturbed for the next 30 minutes. You may sit in a comfortable chair or lie down on a bed or couch. Ensure your body is fully supported and that you're wearing loose, comfortable clothing. If you're listening while lying down, you may wish to place a small pillow under your knees to support your lower back. This session is designed to help you deeply relax, so please do not listen while driving or operating machinery. You may drift into a light sleep, which is perfectly natural. Your conscious mind may wander, and that's absolutely fine. Simply allow yourself to be guided by my voice. Take a moment now to adjust your position until you feel completely comfortable.
Relaxation
Let's begin by taking a deep, refreshing breath in through your nose. Hold it gently. And release it slowly through your mouth. With each breath you take, feel yourself beginning to relax more and more. Take another deep breath in. And as you exhale, let your body sink deeper into its supporting surface. With your next breath, notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest. Feel the weight of your body becoming heavier with each exhalation. Allow your eyes to close whenever it feels right, knowing that you're safe and supported in this moment. As you continue breathing naturally and comfortably, begin to notice the points where your body makes contact with the surface beneath you. Feel that contact becoming heavier and more relaxed with each passing moment.
The Scene
Imagine yourself at the top of a beautiful, gentle staircase. This staircase has ten steps, each step taking you deeper into relaxation. The air around you is warm and comfortable. Soft, golden light filters down from above, creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Notice the smooth, polished handrail, cool and reassuring beneath your hand. Each step is carpeted in the softest material you've ever felt. As you prepare to descend this staircase, feel the peaceful energy surrounding you, supporting you, protecting you.
Going Deeper
Now, begin to slowly descend these steps. Ten. Taking that first step down, feeling twice as relaxed. Nine. Drifting deeper, letting go of any remaining tension. Eight. Each step down doubles your relaxation. Seven. Feeling safe and supported as you drift deeper. Six. Halfway down now, letting go completely. Five. Even deeper relaxation flows through your entire being. Four. Peace and tranquility embrace you. Three. Almost there, feeling so calm and relaxed. Two. Deeper still. One. Arriving at the bottom, completely relaxed and at peace.
